WHITWORTH SPORTS COUNCIL WON A PRESTIDGEOUS AWARD AT ROSSENDALE LEISURE TRUSTS SPORTS AWARDS
The Aims of the Whitworth Sports Council are to bring together all the sporting organisations of Whitworth under one body which will strive to achieve a better share of grants etc available to improve sporting facilities in Whitworth
Also Whitworth Sports Council will bring about a better understanding from the people involved, about the needs of the other groups, and the activities of the other groups to a mutual benefit
Being a Sports Council we are able as a group to approach various bodies such as the National lottery, Sport England, Farrow Hoyle Trust, grants for community projects and possible 106 planning agreements etc to help fund our needs, not withstanding any government grants. Also with the help of our local and county councillors we have an avenue with which to go down to find any funding that may be available, and indeed any planning permissions necessary.
